January 17th is National Hot Buttered Rum Day

And if January 17th is National Hot Buttered Rum Day, then for the Scoundrel Fleet every day of the year must be January 17th.

Did you know this snuggly drink first appeared in New England in the 1650's? Toddies and Nogs were already popular, but as distilleries started to spring up, colonists started splashing some rum into their hot drinks, and the rest is warm, spicy, boozy history.

You can make your own hot buttered rum batter quite easily! I like this recipe, myself. Yum yum.

The ingredients may come from the larders of Real-Life, or oceans you've heard of in that land, or perhaps we will harvest ingredients from the waters of the Blake Sea.
These recipes may or may not be easily reproducible in your own kitchen. I'm sure you could find a lobster if needed - but Air Kraken may not be as plentiful in, oh, say, Nebraska. Set your expectations accordingly.
Many of these recipes are Gained By Adventure. If yer lucky, they may feature the story of how they came to be.

WHO ARE WE?

We are Armada's Scoundrel Fleet, in the virtual world of Second Life. Armada has slipped beneath the waves and become a place of stories and legends, but the Scoundrel Fleet continues causing mayhem on our island in Blake Bay, a sim in the Blake Sea region. We are creators, storytellers, pirates, madmen and dreamers. Some of us are all of these.
